Is Your Money Blessed?

Is Your Money Blessed?

In this period when working conditions and earning money have become more difficult, the amounts we earn are often not enough for us. And most of us believe that if the amount of our money increases, we will be able to live more comfortably. In fact, there is a value that is much more important than the increase in amount that we need to add to our money and our lives… A value that we have forgotten and that is now losing its importance: Abundance…

A word that the elders never let go of in their minds and lives, but which we today often use out of habit: Abundance… When we say “May God bless it” during our transactions, most of us no longer know why we say it. Yet it is not the amount of money we have, but the abstract value beyond that amount that determines the impact and benefit of money.

In other words, the essence of our money is tied to its abundance…

So, does the money in our pockets have abundance, regardless of whether the amount is small or large?

No matter how much we earn, if it lacks abundance, that income disappears without leaving a trace. It leaves your hands as quickly as it came. Your money disappears so fast that it feels like you never earned anything. Through payments, debts, and unexpected expenses, the money we earn disappears before we can even grasp it. That’s why the abundance in our money is more important than the amount. There is such a small amount of money that has great abundance; that money touches you. You shop for your home, buy what you need, give help, but you still have money. Because the abstract nature of that money is greater than its concrete nature. And the abstract is more valuable than the concrete.

So how can we increase the abstract touch of money?

Stay Away from Unearned Income: Money that comes to us without our sweat and labor is not ours.

That is why such money leaves our hands very quickly. Money we receive without earning it has no abundance. Because there is no labor or effort of ours on it. The abundance of our income is determined by the efforts and labor we put into earning it. For this reason, money obtained through bribery, gambling, lotteries, or other such means has no blessing. The blessing of your money is determined by the sweat of your brow, that is, your labor.

Do Not Disdain the Small: Your income may be small at the moment. Do not disdain your small income. Because there is blessing in the small. A person cannot turn 0 into 1. It is the Creator who turns 0 into 1. And 1 becomes 2 after a while. 2 becomes 3 after a while. But if a person belittles the little they have and turns away from it, they cannot grow. The issue is not to work in a place that pays a lot of money at first, but to earn enough for oneself in the place where one works and grow from there. People generally want to grow quickly. They cannot be patient with time and want things to happen immediately. However, the issue is not about growing, but about how we grow…

Avoid Working in Jobs That Harm Society and People: Even if the amount of money we earn by harming others is large, it cannot touch us. Because no one can benefit themselves in the long run by harming others. Money earned from selling drugs has no blessing. Blessing comes from work that benefits others and strengthens them. Selling clean, natural, and drug-free food at a reasonable price also earns the seller a blessing.

Control Your Spending: Avoid unnecessary and unwanted consumption. Because as a person’s unnecessary spending increases, they begin to experience difficulties in their income. Increasing our income is not only achieved by working hard but also by avoiding waste in our spending. Yet, in this era, we can consume things we don’t need by going into debt even though we haven’t earned the money. This consumption style naturally makes our hands barren.

Ask for Blessings from the Giver of Blessings: A person works and earns an income in return for their labor. It is not another person who gives the reward for the price we pay, but the Creator. Our employer, our customer, our company—they are merely the carriers of the money we earn. That is why it is said, “The customer is a blessing.” Out of respect for the One who sends that blessing—the Creator—we show respect to the carrier. It is the Creator who grants both sustenance and abundance. That is why we say, “May Allah grant abundance.”

May your earnings be abundant!
